Yes, might be very handy :)

I've been planning on developing a Jabber client for Mozilla for some time
now, just haven't been able to start yet.  It will probably be heavily
integrated into the XUL structure.  Most of the back-end work for XML and
network is already done in Mozilla, so it might be a relatively easy
project(in comparison to other Mozilla projects).

I emailed the owner of the above project, we'll see where it goes from
there.
